I just got back from two weeks on tour with Big White Clouds and Amory Sivertson (both of whom recorded some fabulous new music before we left; check it out on their respective sites), so I have a fair amount of catching up to do!

First off, Boston-based bluegrass bards The Loose Handle Band recorded some of their original tracks here about a month ago - look for them to post the EP online this week!

Secondly, you’ll be hearing from post-rockers HarborLights very soon as well. I was lucky enough to fill the role of session drummer for these sessions, so I’m especially proud :)

Rapper Nixon Nyce recorded a single at our studio for his Celebs for MS mixtape, and from the sound of things there will be some pretty big names involved so I’m sure you’ll hear about that in due time…

Based in Boston (but bred in Cleveland), singer-songwriter Amory Sivertson will soon complete her rich and textured third album Human at The Office, to be released on Wax On Felt Records later in the summer.

On the heavy-music front, New Hampshire’s own Pangea will return in July to record their full-length debut, which is sure to bring an obscene amount of mosh.

Also in July, emotive hardcore outfit Aviator will record and mix tracks for a new 7” double A-side, to be released independently in early autumn.

I’m starting to book time for August and September and planning to get going on control room renovations before then, so get in touch with me quick!

Fall is here and things are slowing down a bit at The Office, which is good because we have some catching up to do!

Amory Sivertson’s new album Human has gone through its last set of mix tweaks and is now in the hands of mastering engineer Chris Ascher! The record is expected to be released by Wax On Felt Records this fall and should appeal to fans of Regina Spektor, Joanna Newsom and Joni Mitchell.

We also just put the finishing touches on HarborLights’ debut full-length (on which I had the distinct privileges of playing drums as well) and that too should be off to mastering soon. Fans of Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai and Pelican, take note.

White Woods Extended Family, one of my lesser-known and lesser-appreciated projects, is about halfway done tracking the followup to their debut EP Meet Me at the Sunbelt. The band recently restructured into more of a collective that will see them releasing new material featuring a constantly-changing lineup, but this EP will consist of the original 5 members.

Some of my other, more aggressive projects (Urethra Franklin, Plague Survivors) will be tracking new material as well, and if anyone is that interested in stoner doom or blackened crust, I’ll be sure to keep you in the loop haha.

We have some more upcoming sessions pending and I’m really excited for them, but in the meantime, we’re drawing up the final plans, enlisting all the help we can get and buying materials to rebuild our control room! Hopefully the monitor section should be complete by early October - we’ll post pictures of the progress in the meantime!
